For the kids one of the best parts of being in Colorado this summer was the many streams of running water to play in...shallow enough to splash and play (and sometimes sit) in, with plenty of rocks for throwing and ducks for floating!
Since having our two little ones we seem to laugh a lot more! It helps that Lily and Eli have the best little giggles we have ever heard! We thought this blog would be a good way to keep up with all of the friends and family who don't get to hear their giggle on a regular basis! Enjoy!

Crested Butte Time
You might remember that we lived in Crested Butte, Colorado this summer while directing our Lifelines summer project. Crested Butte had such a unique, laid back, chill, hippy (yet wealthy), mountain culture. Crested Butte is really in it's own little world up there in the mountains. And they also sort of run on their own laid back time...Crested Butte time. So, maybe I was running on Crested Butte time...and that's why I'm finally beginning to share my summer pictures (although it's November and it snowed out today)!:) Here's a few to get started...
Self portrait through the windows of our condo...what a view to wake up to every morning!
5 floors up and pretty far from a beach we made this little sandbox for the kids out on our deck!
Eli and Rachel...his best friend over the summer! Aren't they precious together?:) Check out his arm around her!
Colorado marmot...taking literally as we drove by a "marmot crossing" sign!
Ahhhh...how I loved having those mountains surrounding me all summer!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
Carving Pumpkins
Drilling Pumpkins
My parents flew in for a visit the day before...amazingly they were able to fly through Hurricane Sandy and they were the only flight to land in our airport that day!
Here's mom and the kids making "Mummy Dogs" for dinner
This year Eli was a choo choo train! It was his choice and you can't deny that he's the cutest little choo choo train ever! I found the idea, Joe did most of the work making it, and I finished the details. It was a bit more work than we were expecting, but he loved it and the cuteness was well worth the work! The costume was a huge hit everywhere we went that night!
And if that weren't enough we also had a Spider Queen (aka Grammy)!
And once again we started the evening trick-or-treating at our church!
My parents were there (Spider Queen and Superman)giving out candy!
Joe and I were railroad signs to go with Eli's costume.
We enjoyed the rest of the night trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It was a beautiful, warm evening (the kids didn't even need coats)! And when Eli got tired Lily still wanted to keep going so her and I continued trick-or-treating for a while just the two of us
(which was kinda sweet).
Our pumpkins turned out great...we even had a few of them hanging from trees!
Overall it was a fun day of pumpkins, dressing up, and sweets!
