Oh my, Lily was excited for this day...it was DOLPHIN DAY!!!
Okay, it was really Sea World, but all Lily was thinking about was the dolphins so that's the very first place we headed when we got there...
And we got right in line for the very first dolphin feeding of the day! For a few dollars each you get a tray of fish to feed the dolphins and it is pretty awesome! The dolphins come right up to you, you get to touch them, and feed them and really it's so cool!
It It was hard to get good pictures from where I was and it didn't take long before I had to put the camera away so that I could join in the dolphin fun. And mom even got a picture of us with the dolphins (right as I was putting away that camera)!:)
It was the first thing we did and honestly one of our favorite parts of the day!
But that wasn't all of the dolphin fun...
The dolphin show!
And as an extra special treat for Lily my parents bought tickets for her and I to be a part of the dolphin trainer program! I wasn't able to take many pictures at all during this time, but here's Lily at the dolphin nursery waiting to feed some of the mama dolphins.
We learned a ton about dolphins both in the dolphin nursery and then in the adult dolphin habitat. And it was there that we got to interact more with the dolphins, learn about how to train them, and even got to participate in their training session. Lily loved learning the signals and watching the dolphins respond to her. We had two dolphins that we were training and this was one of them (he was pretty cute)...
It was a pretty great experience for our dolphin loving girl!
And of course the rest of Sea World was pretty
great too!
The new penguin ride and habitat was one of my favorites too. Do you see how close Lily is to the penguins? There was no class in the middle, the penguins were actually right there (it felt like you could reach right out
and grab them...though we didn't)!:)
My parents gave each of the kids a little bit of money to pick out a souvenir during our trip in Florida and of course Lily picked out a stuffed dolphin at Sea World. As we were watching the penguins underwater Lily had her stuffed dolphin out and this one silly penguin loved her dolphin and kept swimming at it trying to get
it...it was pretty entertaining!
Oh, it was a really good day. And as Joe was pulling around the van we even got one last visit with the sting rays (and mom got these pictures). Good day indeed!
