A Really Wonderful Day...

A family pic at the end of our afternoon!

Lily "driving" the truck while we waited for dad to pack everything up.

After a while Lily decided that she wanted to push the sled!

On Monday we had a really wonderful day off!
We went cross country skiing at Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park.
As you can see in the pictures we used the skijoring gear Joe got for Christmas so that Indy could pull Lily in her sled. And Lily LOVED it!! Okay, Joe ended up pulling Lily half the time so we didn't wear Indy out, but either way Lily was cross country skiing with us for almost 2 and a half hours and she was happy the whole time- amazing! Oddly enough she liked it even more when Indy was pulling her- I think she thought it was funny!
To avoid having Lily pulled up the steep parts we skied across the lake for part of the time (which you can see in some of the pictures). What you won't see pictures of is what happened when we got to the other side of the lake and the trail was uphill a ways (unlike right near the lake where we got on). Picture Joe trying to pull Lily on her sled, uphill, through the trees with me following behind trying to carry 4 skis and 4 ski poles in snow up to my knees! We'll call it a shared experience!
Overall though it was just such a wonderful day- warm, beautiful, and fun!
And after we even got to stop for lunch and enjoy my favorite peanut butter cups sundaes! Perfect!
