Summer on our Deck...

There has been a lot of summer happening on our deck...

Early in the summer we bought AstroTurf (yes, the fake green grass) so that our kids could run around in their bare feet without threat of many, many splinters (our deck wood is a bit sketchy) and it has been wonderful...

Most of the summer we had the pool and slide up on the deck. They love water so much that we pretty much couldn't let them near the deck unless we were okay with them being soaked. That was fun for a long time until Eli poked the pool with the end of the sprinkler giving in multiple stab wounds. We managed for most of the summer like that but finally the leaks just became too much and we had to get rid of the pool.

So we moved the sandbox up to the deck where it is now the main attraction. I have to say that I love it on the deck where it is free from grass, weeds, bugs, and most of all spiders. I love being outdoors, but I'm not a fan of big spiders in my kid's sandbox!

Yes, there has been a lot of fun happening this summer on our deck and now with the sandbox there the fun will last into fall...
