After two months away we are finally back home! Our travels took us across the country and back- both for work and to visit family. I can honestly say that it was a good two months- and yet home has never felt sweeter. I walked through the door of our house and thought how much nicer our kitchen is than I remember (I guess it just takes a little perspective). And after two full days Lily is still saying many times a day, "We're home!" She is as excited as we are! It was like Christmas all over again watching her rediscover all the toys she hasn't seen in months! And yet returning home isn't without its work or glitches. After 3 days we are finally about unpacked- finally. And after some miscommunication our cable has been reconnected. And well, our dryer timer is apparently busted (and ran all night last night). And of course after being closed up the last few months (and with one of the wettest summers ever in Maine) life in our basement is a little damp (and some things have mildew). But do you know what? We get to sleep in our own bed tonight (and the next night and the next). Who cares about the mildew, it's good to be home!
