I had hopes of getting the kids out in the yard this week- to dig in the dirt and plant and just try to make life in our yard look a little more lovely. The rain may have dashed those plans, but the sight of these flowers (the few that have survived the hoards of deer that frequent our yard) gives me hope. So Lily, Eli and I started planting a few annuals in the front yard this morning. Lily lost interest after a bit and wanted to climb trees and Eli just seemed to want to move the flowers around (while still in their containers), but it was still nice to finally get out on a dry day!
