Liam was born just before 2p.m. on Tuesday and we left the hospital to bring him home around 5p.m. the next day! It was a brief, but good stay. We decided, ahead of time, to come home early if we could mostly to save on money (because even with good insurance we still have to pay 10%) and also to be with the kids. Of course we weren't positive that this would be possible, but since Liam and I were both totally healthy and doing well it was!
We did enjoy our day there though. In fact after he was born it was actually quite peaceful and quiet. I guess we are used to a lot more activity and noise. And taking care of one sleepy newborn (with the help of nurses too) felt pretty simple! We were able to just rest and hold and snuggle Liam. We even did a little reading and watching some shows that weren't cartoons and they brought me chocolate milkshakes whenever I wanted!
To be honest that first night home was a little rough and part of me wondered if we should have stayed one more night at the hospital!:)
