One morning all of the moms on project were able to take the kids to a beach that was really close. Now it wasn't a typical sand beach, more like a rocky beach that's only a beach at high tide- but it was beautiful and had great rocks for climbing and little tide pools for the kids to splash in. And really, who needs sand when there are so many rocks to be thrown in the water?! While it was beautiful and warm at our cabins once we were down by the water it was quite windy and a little bit chilly. The water was so choppy that we weren't able to find starfish like we were hoping- but the kids didn't seem to notice!
