18 Months!!

Believe it or not my baby boy is 18 months old!!!

He recently had his 18 month check up and my sweet boy is healthy and happy. At 26 pounds he is in the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference and in the 75th percentile for height. He is on track (or ahead of the game) for all development except for his speech. He is actually a bit behind for speech and we (along with the doctor) have decided to have him evaluated by a speech therapist. The doctor isn't very concerned and really I'm not either- though I'll feel quite relieved when he does start talking. He can say "Mama" and "Dada", but doesn't say them all that often. Since his appointment though he has started saying "Mama" more to get my attention and he is starting to say "Go"- so maybe we are on our way! My guess is that all will be fine, but we sure would appreciate your prayers toward that end.

So, he may not be saying much, but don't be fooled- he is one smart boy! He can show you where his ears are, his belly, his toes, etc... he can point to the cow or the bear in a book, and he generally follows instructions well (when he feels like cooperating that is)! He understands far more than even I give him credit for!

Oh, I just can't even tell you how much I adore my sweet 18 month old baby Eli!
